Herpes Simplex

Herpes simplex is also referred to as cold sores or fever blisters. It is a viral infection of the skin with possibilities of recurrence. The reason behind its recurrence is the virus is never completely removed from the body. When it is cleared from the skin by the immune system, it hides in the nerves. It is estimated that nearly nine out of ten people have been exposed to herpes.

In most cases, people those who are infected are not aware of it. Some people may experience the itching and burning in the skin while many do not show any symptoms at all .Herpes generally starts with itching and burning of the skin and develops into a group of small red bumps that blister. The blister will form into a yellow crust in few days. The crust then falls off slowly and the redness also goes away. The whole process lasts for 10 - 14 days. It will rarely result in scars.
