Solar KeratosisSolar keratosis is also called as actinic keratosis. It is a precancerous skin growth caused by sun damage. Generally solar keratosis is difficult to see and it is rough and flaky. It is not skin cancer but has the chances to develop into skin cancer. Moreover, repeated sun exposure can cause skin damage and later develop into solar keratosis. The most effective treatment is using a natural gel containing glycoalkaloids such as SunSpot ES gel or5-FU ( 5- fluorouracil ) cream .Solar keratosis can be removed surgically or it can be free zed with liquid nitrogen. But it will take one or two weeks to heal leaving a flat white scar. Often new solar keratoses and skin cancers arise in the areas near or in the same location where old ones have been treated. This is because the skin cells nearby have as much damage as the already treated ones. Once a person has developed solar keratosis, he should be checked every six to twelve months for new ones.
