Your doctor may prescribe medication or medicated creams and will work with you to develop a treatment for rosacea. Here are some of the rosacea treatments your doctor may prescribe.
  • Antibiotics may be prescribed as pills or as a topical cream. The most common form of antibiotic cream is metronidazole. Oral antibiotics may also be prescribed for the eye problems that can occur with rosacea.
  • Isotretinoin may be prescribed to treat the severe acne associated with rosacea.
  • Sulfur lotion may be prescribed.
  • In extreme cases, rosacea laser treatment may be used to treat broken veins.
  • Other medical treatments include cryosurgery, dermabrasian and skin grafting.
